Decentralised Upper limb Rehabilitation
REAtouch® Lite 2

Intensive and functional neuro-rehabilitation
easier with a portable device

Thanks to its lighter configuration and ease of transport,
the REAtouch® Lite 2 makes intensive rehabilitation more flexible, whether in a hospital/rehabilitation centre or at home.

The portable version of the REAtouch

The REAtouch® Lite 2 is a medical device in the REAtouch® family. Equipped with the same software as its big brother, the REAtouch® Lite 2 offers the same user functions as the REAtouch®. What makes it different is its hardware configuration, as it has no mechanical feet. It is also portable, thanks to the handles integrated into its design. With a 32-inch (73 x 41cm) screen, the REAtouch® Lite 2 can be placed on a table or flat surface. The inclination of the screen can be adjusted from 0° (flat) to an angle of 80°, so you can vary the difficulty of your rehabilitation exercises. In addition, the device can be supplied with a height-adjustable desk for positioning.

Like the REAtouch®, the REAtouch® Lite 2 can interact with dedicated objects, adding a functional dimension to the therapeutic experience. Through the use of serious games, the REAtouch® Lite 2 provides a very high level of stimulation for the patient’s motor and cognitive skills, thanks to therapeutic play.

From therapy to hospitals…

With the REAtouch® Lite 2, intensive functional rehabilitation of the upper limbs is now available in rehabilitation centres, whether in the room or on the technical platform. Thanks to its easy-to-use and user-friendly platform, its use encourages the active performance of voluntary gestures/movements via continuous stimulation.

…to the patient’s home

The REAtouch® Lite 2 is also certified for use at home. Compact and easy to transport, it allows patients to continue their rehabilitation over the long term.

Uni- & bimanual therapy

The REAtouch® Lite 2 device can be used for both uni- and bimanual therapy. For example, HABIT-ILE therapy, developed by Professor Yannick Bleyenheuft and her research team, provides intensive functional rehabilitation based on the use of playful bimanual exercises. This method is recognised by the scientific community and health authorities thanks to several studies already carried out. It has been proven that combining REAtouch® with the HABIT-ILE method is as effective as the method alone. This study proves that REAtouch® is capable of following neuro-rehabilitation recommendations. Interested in finding out more? Visit our page dedicated to the HABIT-ILE method.

Broad indications

Intensive functional rehabilitation with REAtouch® Lite 2 can be used for a  large range of indications, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. It is suited for use across all stages of these conditions, allowing for broad patient inclusion.

Clinical and scientific interest

A consortium involving AXINESIS, Arsalis, UCLouvain – Université catholique de Louvain and HELHa – Haute ÉcoleLouvain en Hainaut has been set up to develop a tele-rehabilitation solution combining the REAtouch® Lite 2 and the HABIT-ILE method. This project, called ‘FRITE@Home’, is still in progress and is being carried out in collaboration with the BioWin – The Health Cluster of Wallonia competitiveness cluster and the Walloon Region. In fine, the aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of this solution in the form of both intensive courses and follow-ups, including a home evaluation protocol.

Continuity of care

REAplan®, REAtouch® and REAtouch® Lite 2 are complementary rehabilitation technologies covering the entire upper limb care pathway to enable faster recovery and better outcomes while reducing healthcare costs. A unique technology platform can also bring REAtouch® and REAtouch® Lite 2 together into a single patient interface for remote rehabilitation.
